Co-hosts Canada scored a stoppage-time winner to beat South Africa 1-0 on Monday (June 29, 2026) and become the first team to advance to the last 16 at the World Cup.
Stephen Eustaquio hit home a 92nd-minute winner from outside the penalty area to see Canada through. The Canadians will meet the winner of Monday’s clash between Morocco and the Netherlands in the last 16 in Houston.
